CHRISTMAS TWENTY TWENTY ONE

Hello friends and family,

Hope you are all well and feeling excited for a little holiday break for those of you who can take some time out. Cambodians generally don't celebrate Christmas as it’s mostly a Buddhist nation but slowly the decor and traditions are becoming more visible around the city…sadly though most don’t know the meaning of Christmas.

That said what an awesome chance to bless people and make the message known!

I’ve been sitting here at the shop planning and thinking of the best ways to reach the homeless here in my little community this Christmas time. As you know we have been selling packs of Christmas cards to raise funds to buy gifts for the students and their families. I would like to extend this gift giving for some of the homeless here.

My plan is to fill Christmas stockings with much needed essential items to help the poor and homeless in our community.

So far we have raised nearly $1000 from the sale of cards which enable us to buy gifts for each student and their families. We will also be able to fill 15 extra stockings from these funds.

Here is a list of items I will purchase for the stockings.

Personal Hygiene:

Toothpaste / toothbrush / shampoo / conditioner / hand sanitiser / deodorant / soap / body lotion / face masks / brush / combs

Snacks:

Biscuits / fruit / nuts / muesli bars / candy canes

Games:

Playing cards / activity books / crayons

Extras:

Christmas Cards and any extras I can find :)

Each stocking is $40 (AUD/NZD).

My goal is to fill 50 stockings to help 50 poor and homeless people this Christmas. Would you like to help me fill a stocking?

If anyone would like to give a “full” stocking or give an amount to help fill one from yourself or your family, workplaces, businesses just let me know and let’s help people have a happy Christmas with us this year ❤️

It’s been so nice being back and settling into Cambodian life again. The students have gone back to university and they are really happy the main restrictions of Covid have subsided and there is freedom once again although cause to be cautious.

For me Christmas will look very different but I plan to make it a year that counts.

I would like to take this time to say a huge thank you.

Thank you for the love, care, trust and kindness you have given both to me and to my Cambodian family. I know I ask a lot over the year but giving everybody a chance to make a difference is one of my driving forces.

So as the year closes I’m wishing you all a Happy and blessed Christmas. Moments of love and generosity over the holiday period. Memories made that you will always treasure and hearts and lives changed through your giving this season ❤️❤️

From my family to yours. Merry Christmas and a happy and blessed 2022….
